Terms of use

By creating an account or using ZecMarket, you accept these terms.

What ZecMarket is

ZecMarket is a listing board. It lets people publish offers and requests, place orders and talk to each other. ZecMarket is not a party to any sale. It never receives, holds, sends or signs any payment: buyers pay sellers directly. It charges no fee on sales.

Your account

  • You are responsible for what is done with your account and for keeping your password and your private PGP key safe.
  • One person, one account. Accounts created to get around a ban are closed.
  • You may stop using ZecMarket at any time.

What you may not post or sell

Every listing must be legal where you are and where the buyer is, and you confirm it when you publish. In particular, the following are not allowed:

  • anything illegal: stolen goods, counterfeits, weapons, drugs and controlled substances, forged documents;
  • personal data, hacked accounts, malware or services to harm people or systems;
  • sexual content;
  • scams, pyramid schemes, and listings that do not describe what is really sold;
  • spam, and listings that only point to another site (except business listings, which exist for that).

Listings containing some keywords are held until a moderator reviews them.

Payments

  • Payments go directly from the buyer's wallet to the seller's. They cannot be reversed or refunded by ZecMarket.
  • The amount in ZEC is fixed when the seller accepts an order. Always pay the exact amount, to the address shown on the order, with its memo.
  • "I have paid" is a declaration by the buyer. ZecMarket does not check payments.
  • Taxes and legal obligations related to your sales are yours.

Orders, reviews and disputes

  • A seller should only accept an order they can fulfil, and deliver as described.
  • Reviews must be honest and about the order. Moderators may remove abusive reviews.
  • In a dispute, moderators can write an outcome, warn, remove listings and ban accounts. They cannot move funds.

Moderation

Moderators may remove content, add a warning badge to an account, or ban an account that breaks these terms, with or without prior notice. Every moderation action is logged with its reason. Use the "Report" links to tell us about a problem.

Privacy

We collect as little as possible: a username, a password (stored hashed), and what you choose to add (PGP key, recovery contact). Private messages are stored encrypted, and we cannot read them. Network addresses are only kept, hashed, for a short time to limit abuse. The FAQ gives more details.

No warranty

ZecMarket is provided as is. We do not check the items, services, people or payments on the site, and we are not responsible for the transactions between users or their outcome. Be careful: read the safety tips.

Changes

These terms may change. The date below shows the latest version; continuing to use the site means accepting it.
